We did have quite an interesting and dramatic moment in last week’s game, it turns out. One of the “spells” in the game is called “Transfer Wounds”, taking the injuries or hurts from one subject and moving them to another. However, lots can go wrong in the process, too (like accidentally affecting another target).
The game has lots of fun little “exceptions” like this when it comes to using magic.
Anyway, one of the characters was struggling with two problems: first, he was infected by some kind of weird parasite, which lived in his intestines. It was placed there by an eccentric person in the process of healing his wounds… but, now, became a problem, since this person could control his behaviour by commanding the parasites to harm their host. Second, he was trying to kill this person (mostly for the parasite thing, but maybe other reasons, too), and it wasn’t going too well.
The player came up with a very clever solution to both problems - although very risky! He took a knife and carved open his own stomach, spilling out his intestines. At the same time, he released the Transfer Wounds spell.
As it happens, it worked exactly as planned: his target’s stomach fell open, leaving him dying, while his own wounds closed up, the parasites effectively flushed out.
Made for a great and very memorable scene. And it all happened right in front of a powerful older politician, as he’d just broken into his bedroom…
